Low-Carbon Journey

Since September 2024, Anissa has made overland travel the core of her work. She left Paris with a clear idea: cross continents while avoiding flights as much as possible, to reduce her impact, slow down, and show through photos what the journey reveals about landscapes and the people who live there. The train has become her moving workspace: she keeps going, changes climates and languages, and meets people who give meaning to each stage.
From Paris to Laos, she linked Europe and Asia by rail, while documenting the environmental issues visible along these routes. In spring 2025, she traveled back toward France, still overland, to keep showing, with her camera and a notebook, what slow travel brings: a smaller footprint, more attention, and more direct stories.
This section gathers photo series and practical routes from her journeys: international main lines, regional trains, connections, and ferries when the sea link makes more sense than flying. Each route offers simple guides: how border crossings and stations work, rough timings, costs, the best seasons, and above all, help for anyone to find their own way to travel without flying.
