DESTIN FESTIVAL
During her overland journey from France to Laos, Anissa crossed Turkey by train. On the way from Istanbul, she met passengers traveling to support friends from a small village called Destin, in the Mugla region. The people of Destin have been fighting against the construction of a cement factory and quarries that threaten their forests, farmland, water, and local wildlife. This project puts at risk both the environment and the way of life that has been part of the village for generations.

Anissa joined them and spent three days in Destin, photographing their fight: peaceful protests, moments of solidarity, and the daily courage of those determined to protect their land.
This photo series shares the story of a rural community on the front line of environmental protection in Turkey.
