About Anissa

Anissa Maille is a French photographer, jurist, and storyteller passionate about protecting our planet.
She is known for her international work on human rights, especially for raising awareness about children’s rights and fighting against violence towards minorities. After several years in advocacy and activism, she decided to share her vision through photography and video.
In 2024, she left France to follow a lifelong dream: to explore the world without flying. Guided by her values, her love for nature, and her curiosity for other cultures, she chose to travel in a way that respects both people and the planet.
This journey started after a burnout, when she felt the need to reconnect with what matters most to her: creativity, adventure, and raising awareness. She chose not to fly and to travel by train instead, both to respect the environment and to embrace a slower pace, with time for landscapes, chance encounters, and the belief that the journey starts the moment you leave, not only when you arrive.
In September 2024, she traveled from France to Laos by train, crossing Eastern Europe, Turkey, Central Asia, and China in a month and a half. Since then, she has continued exploring Southeast Asia, documenting social, human, and environmental issues in the regions she visits.
Through her work, Anissa wants to show the beauty and fragility of our planet. She believes photography can inspire people to act, raise awareness about the climate crisis, and help protect our ecosystems for a more sustainable future.
